When he’s not providing legal services, he travels nationally and internationally providing his clean brand of comedy and professional speaking for churches, colleges, and corporations. He’s provided comedy/professional speaking for several corporations and organizations such as: The National Medical Association; Radio One; Pfizer; Novartis; N.C. Advocates for Justice; Urban Sports & Entertainment Group; Camelback Ventures; COSHAR Healthy Communities Foundation; Carolinas Council of Housing Redevelopment & Code Officials; North Carolina Central University; Livingstone College; Fayetteville State University and countless others.
In addition, he’s spoken/performed in diverse settings for audiences of all ages, races and backgrounds including: The National Museum of Women in the Arts (Washington, DC); Jamaica Fest; CIAA Basketball Tournaments and others.
Surprising to many, he is also a Trumpeter who has spent decades crafting his musical gift. He was a featured soloist for the highly acclaimed NCCU Jazz Band which performed with the Count Basie Orchestra, Branford Marsalis and other notable musicians.
Though he’s remained busy juggling multiple careers, Roderick has always welcomed the opportunity to share his professional speaking expertise and train students how to effectively communicate. Roderick served as a Public Speaking Instructor and/or Mock Trial Advisor at CFC Academy; Granville Central High School; Vance-Granville Community College Male Mentoring Success Initiative; Institute for the Development of Young Leaders and Camp Confidence. He’s also provided personal one-on-one training to youth and adults seeking to improve in the area of public speaking.
Roderick has also remained committed to serving the community, including: North Carolina Central University (Board of Trustees); N.C. Bar Association LREA Committee High School Law Career Conference (Chairman); N.C. Bar Foundation Civic Education & Community Engagement Committee; Granville County Community Foundation and others.
